USB/Flash Drive Issues

Recently there has been an outbreak of an annoying autorun based virus, which has targeted USB/Flash drives.

The virus hides in the USB/Flash drive’s recycle folder, and created a reference to itself in the autorun file. You can remove this virus by…

  1. Open the autorun file (you will need to enable hidden file & protected file view to see the autorun file).
  2. Note the reference of the virus file.
  3. Delete the autorun file, and create a new empty one.
  4. Delete the virus file from the location you noted in step 2.
